CHAPTER EIGHT

‘WAKE UP, CARA...you are getting lazy.’

‘Huh?’ Cara huffed and opened eyes heavy with sleep to find Logan leaning over her, with a disturbingly gorgeous smile on his face. This was new—he usually looked so focussed and intense. Her heart bounced in her chest.

‘I’m not lazy. I’m shattered,’ she murmured, her voice rough as she struggled to wake from the sex-induced coma he’d put her in last night. Sunlight sparkled through the floor-to-ceiling windows in his bedroom. How long had she been out? It had been pitch-dark when she’d finally plunged into a dreamless sleep.

The man was insatiable.

‘You shattered me. Now get lost,’ she grumbled, presenting her back to him as she rolled over and pulled the duvet over her head.

How on earth did he have the energy to get out of bed? Let alone look at her with that hot awareness in his eyes.

They’d made love too many times to count in the past week, in the seven energetic days and long sultry nights since they’d made their Devil’s Bargain. They’d christened pretty much every room in the house, even the gym and his workshop, and then there had been that memorable moment yesterday afternoon in the kitchen—when he’d bent her over the work surface while she was slicing carrots, worked her into a frenzy with his tongue and then plunged into her from behind. She was lucky she hadn’t lost a finger in the process.

Heat flushed through her tired—and frankly sore—body as she burrowed into the bedding.

The man was a sex machine. Inventive, inquisitive, generous and curious. And it seemed he had stored up a ton of fantasies over his long years of celibacy to practise on her. And while she had enjoyed every second of his attention—each orgasm more overpowering and overwhelming than the last as he discovered every possible way he could arouse and entice her—she was not in the market for any more orgasms until she had slept for at least twenty-four hours straight. Especially as in the last few days that disturbing sense of anxiety was never far behind.

She yelped as he flipped the duvet off her bare body.

‘Up,’ he said in that take-no-prisoners tone she had come to adore—and hate—in equal measure. ‘We are wasting daylight.’

‘Go. Away!’ she shouted as she grappled with the duvet.

‘No,’ he said, before he won the duvet war and whisked it off the bed.

The arousal in his eyes darkened with intent as his gaze roamed over her yearning flesh. The answering heat in her belly flared. Because of course it did!

She knew what that look meant. And she had discovered she was powerless to resist it. But if she had any more orgasms, she might actually die.

‘We are not having sex!’ she announced, determined to persuade her traitorous body as much as him, because seriously, how could she be wet for him again? When she was still a little sore from their last epic session.

Clearly Logan Colton was not the only sex addict in this room. Because the hot brick that had been jammed between her legs for seven days had already begun to pulse again.
